ACFJC Interfaith Chaplaincy Program
The Chaplaincy program provides safe, confidential, effective and appropriate interfaith spiritual care for persons who have been affected by intimate partner violence and their children, while respecting diverse cultures, religious traditions and faith commitments and maintaining professional behavior and boundaries.

Alameda County District Attorney’s Office (DA)
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office (DA) has a long and consistent history in Alameda County of working to bring together local government, law enforcement, healthcare agencies and community based nonprofit organizations to increase safety for victims and accountability for offenders in domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking cases. The DA, under the leadership of Nancy E. O’Malley, District Attorney, works in close collaboration with local law enforcement and victim advocates, prosecutes all misdemeanor and felony domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, and stalking cases within Alameda County and the City of Oakland.

Alameda County DA’s Victim/Witness Assistance-Advocacy Program
In 1974, the DA’s Office created the first Victim/Witness Assistance program in the United States. A division within the DA’s Office the program provides advocacy to victims of all crimes. These services encompass crisis intervention, court escort/support, orientation to the criminal justice system, emergency assistance, and follow up contact. Victim Witness also has advocates who specialize in working with the elderly and dependent adults who have been victimized, domestic violence victims and those victims and witnesses who have been subpoenaed to attend a parole revocation hearing.

Alameda County DA’s Victims Compensation Program Claims Unit
The Victim/Witness Assistance-Advocacy Program also assists victims of crimes in applying for restitution and resources from the Victims Compensation Program administered through the California Victim’s Compensation and Government Claims Board (VCGCB).

Alameda County Library Foundation
Alameda County Library system provides and protects access to books, information and services that promote learning and enjoyment for everyone. Through the library’s P.U.L.S.E. program (Pop Up Library Services for Everyone) the ACFJC has a 300-book lending library accessible by anyone who has an Alameda County Library card. The Library will also be a part of the ACFJC’s STEP-UP program (Survivor Training and Empowerment Program-Utilizing Your Potential).

Alameda County Medical Center/Highland Hospital Emergency Department
The Alameda County Medical Center Emergency Department (ACMC-ED) is an urban county emergency department and regional trauma center serving all of Alameda County. The Emergency Department, under the leadership of Hillary Larkin, has 13 Physicians Assistants who are certified forensic examiners. The Emergency Department treats over 350 domestic violence victims and 250 sexual assault victims each year.

The Purple Ribbon provides on-site processing of Medi-CAL and CalFRESH applications for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and family/interpersonal violence.

Bay Area Women Against Rape (BAWAR)
Bay Area Women Against Rape, the nation’s first rape crisis center, was formed in 1971. BAWAR provides free in-person counseling to survivors of sexual assault and their significant others. BAWAR also offers accompaniment to police, court, and hospital and provides a 24-hour hotline, support groups, and community education.

Building Futures with Women and Children (BFWC)
BFWC works to build communities with underserved women and children where they are safely and supportively housed, free from homelessness and family violence. BFWC provides domestic violence support groups at the ACFJC, and provides housing support through their Pathway Home program. Furthermore, BFWC has an emergency shelter for homeless clients and clients who are fleeing from domestic violence. BFWC also has a transitional housing facility.

Child Abuse Listening, Interviewing and Coordination Center (CALICO)
CALICO conducts forensic interviews in a child-friendly setting with children, ages 2-17, and developmentally delayed adults who were abused in Alameda County and provides information, referrals and support to their caregivers. The clients served were sexually abused, physically hurt, neglected and exploited as prostitutes, drug-endangered and/or witness to violence in their homes or communities. Children’s Hospital & Research Center, Oakland – The D.O.V.E.S. Project
The D.O.V.E.S. Project is a domestic violence program operated by the Center for Child Protection at Children’s Hospital & Research Center, Oakland since 1998. The D.O.V.E.S. Project provides crisis intervention, assessment, and therapeutic intervention services for children exposed to domestic violence and their battered caregivers, as well as training on children’s exposure to domestic violence.

DeafHope
DeafHope is a nonprofit organization established for and by Deaf women in January 2003. DeafHope’s mission is to end domestic violence and sexual assault against Deaf women and children through empowerment, education and services. Services include advocacy, training and technical assistance.

Family Violence Law Center (FVLC)
FVLC is working to end domestic violence in Alameda County by using a holistic approach that integrates comprehensive protection and prevention services for abuse survivors with efforts to address and change barriers for survivors within the legal, health, education, and criminal justice systems. As one of California’s oldest agencies serving abuse survivors, FVLC is recognized as a leader in the community in delivering exceptional services and advocating for long-term social change for survivors. HEAL Program
The Healing Emotions and Loss after Domestic Violence (HEAL Program) provides psychotherapeutic services in English and Spanish to children, adolescents and adults who have experienced traumatic situations. Treatment modalities include individual, dyadic, and family therapy. Group treatment is available in English for girls between the ages of 7 and 11. Referrals must be VOC eligible.

Jewish Family & Children’s Services of the East Bay
Jewish Family & Children’s Services of the East Bay provides parent/child therapy and intensive case management services to children and families. JFCS East Bay also provides mental health consultation at several preschool sites. JPG Consultants
JPG Consultants provides technical assistance to government and community-based agencies to optimize their coordination and delivery of services. JPG works with outcome-based programs designed to decrease recidivism and victimization rates of youth on probation. JPG designs and implements evidenced-based curriculum for youth in the juvenile justice system and trains practitioners on best practices for working with youth on probation. Consultants specialize in development of policies and protocols that improve juvenile justice system response. Project management includes database system designed to track, evaluate, and achieve program outcomes.

Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center/Project Survive
The Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center (LAS-ELC) works locally, statewide, and nationally to promote the stability of low-income and disadvantaged individuals and families by addressing issues that affect their ability to achieve self-sufficiency. Using the law as a tool, LAS-ELC helps workers attain financial security by preserving employment opportunities. LAS-ELC provides employment law clinics twice a month at the ACFJC.
